I wanted to integrate it to a map after launch, as an update or feature maybe. But my team mates insist that we'll use a map immediately before launch. We are still not sure about it though. But we will surely use Open Street Map for it.

We manually cleaned the data. Konti palang naman so kaya pa siya manual. We still don't have a plan if the database got big. Try using it in Commute.ph! And maybe add some popular routes that you know.

think of a SEO-izable wiki. in a wiki system, every mod can clean up a page.

the only problem I can see with commute tips is that 1) the search route is TOO specific. You're trying to do what google maps already does - give out routes from one destination to another. I don't know but for me if I were the developer behind commute.ph, I would have general routes into a destination. Remove the from, make it general i.e. coming from quezon city, how do i get to makati?

From general, to specific, an Artificial Intelligence script could give you general to specific instructions to get to where you want to go.

it has to be SEO-izable, with a directory somewhere to show to google the latest site map.

If I google something about directions and your main competitor is google maps and that phcommute blog thing. or you can also create a blog spot with links to your site, about how to get to places. Somehow, you have to let a search engine crawl through the routes.

Maybe you could expose the data through an archive of commute directions. That is probably the best option.

I really wish you guys success but i honestly think gaining critical mass will be the hardest part of commute.ph. Goodluck!
